Rumours abound that are post offices are to be relocated. It appears under a new policy introduced by the post office in conjunction with the government the current post offices can be closed in favour of providing the service from within another retail outlet.
Surprisingly we the customer have been kept in the dark and as yet public consultation on our post offices has not been advertised as required by the post office code of conduct. Why would we want to lose our current service and why is this rumour circulating before any advert has been published notifying us of this plan.
Do you agree with this proposal if not let your Parish Councillors know we value our independent post offices and they form a very important part of what makes our rural villages distinctive.

Well they are both still there at the moment but Haxey is certainly not so well stocked with other items.
Westwoodside Post Office on the other hand is a gem of a shop. Like an Aladdin's Cave.
I have heard all sorts but it would be interesting to hear what is really happening. Green Hill shop< which I heard might be trying to take the PO franchise has an application in to become two houses I believe.
I wouldn't mind just using WWs PO - but there are lots of folk who need one a lot more local and accessible
