one of the objections fro Greenhill stores is about the extra traffic!! i assume the co-op will have a car park and then people wont be pulling out blind by the cars parked near the Greenhill shop

Good turn out for public meeting, who this "we" everyone kept talking about, not all of us want the kind of village "we" keep talking about. Seems quite a few at the meeting want a Coop.

i am worried about all these nightmares. for the i am alright party, how do you get to misterton by public transport? Try driving through haxey when everyone has parked outside the pubs, yet no one complains about that

I would like to express my views, while we may wish to stay a small village with quaint shops it is ecomonically a necessity that we are able to buy the goods we require in the village without having to undertake a 20 minute car ride. The shops we presently have are not under threat from a new establishment it may make them sit up and take notice of the customers they do have. I despair for the parking situation at Green Hill and one day there will be a serious accident. We are a large enough population to make the new Coop and the existing shops viable concerns.

Well it is good to see a full and frank exchange of views on here.
I would encourage all those who have not signed up to do so - and also pass the details of the board to their friends.
Some interesting comments - but please keep your comments within reason.
Personally, i have no objection to the proposal

i was at the meeting last tuesday and cant see how such a small co op is gonna bring anything extra to the village they are not gonna stock anything more than what our four existing shops already stock i thought they might have a butchers but they said not which is a shame because that is one thing that haxey needs

It seems to be the other shop that is stirring things up - I assume with their customers in mind rather than their own interests? At the end of the day there are only certain reasons for declining the plans and the LCS will have them all covered. Of course if everyone boycotts it they will hav e trouble and close down.

So - a year or more on from the Co-op opening. What are the views now? The car park can be busy but never full and there are folk working there. What next?
