The owner does not appear to have respect for anyone

The track may have gone for now, but watch this space for further developments the owner may have some more bright ideas.

Hmm, someone got the farmers back up me thinks. He seemed quite reasonable when the Bells interviewed him. The whole issue could have been avoided. Villagers need to discuss their concerns rationally then another sokution could have been agreed, Instead someone buldozed the crude hills and made the field look even worse. Bet the farmer was hopping mad. And the result is, he is now pouring concrete (incidentally the biggest polutant in the world) to make a park for his grandkids. As for keeping a tally on how often it is used. this will be made impossible as all the local kids with bikes/minimotos/skateboards etc will use it. How on earth did this land ever get sold? And when. It should have always remained the property of the parish, along with all the fields around it. It is beyond me. I am sure the residents of EastLound will never allow the pinfold to be sold off. We can still have the Hood though (until health and safety finish it, hope his public liability insurance is up to date) but really someone needs to talk to the owners of the adjacent fields to ensure a good relationship is established as we have to remember by having the Hood come across their fields like that limits the crops they can grow. Do they get any financial recompense for us tramping their fields, I doubt it. How would you like a rugby scrum come though your back garden? So the moral is respect your neighbours, try to look at things from their point of view whilst getting them to see yours and come to a compromise.

don;t think the landowner is a farmer but more of a very big property owner, i think the council have had many disagreements with him over the years as he builds more flats and mansions for his family . The residents of westwoodside have already changed the name of Doncaster road to something else

Pink welcome to the site and glad to see we have someone else who is interested in what is happening locally. Looks can be decieving, he is not a farmer but a developer. A common misconception is the field was parish land, it has always been privately owned. Most farmers I know respect the land as it is the source of there living and they have a sense of stewardship they would never treat land like this. As for reason would anyone welcome a JCB turning up without discussion and ripping up field next to them for a quad bike track?? This field apart from hosting the Hood is supposed to be for agriculture not quad bike tracks and rubbish disposal. Every one should take a look at this field and the other one on the opposite side of the road ask themselves do they do credit to the countryside, if the answer is no turn up for the annual Parish Council meeting and ask councillors what they are doing, it is important!!

this has gone very quiet, anything to do with the fact the land owner has got a few planning applications in at present?
